I loved John Glenn so much. I remember watching everything we could about the space exploration in the 60’s. What a loss! My husband made the snarky comment, “We had John Glenn, not we have Donald Trump!” A beautiful tribute to Glenn and to our dreams. I hope we can hold on to them.
Catherine, it saddens me to think that our American hero has passed away but am in awe of his explorations and where that led. Yes, our dreams rode along with him. Thank you for paying tribute to time gone by that I remember well.
Fitting tribute, an American hero who stirred all our dreams.

We both found a fitting subject in John Glenn. As so many others, I love the simple power of your final line.
They don’t make ’em like they used to…

What a guy. My son said, “He was a hero for your generation.” Hmm… yes. Who do we look to now?
