As seen on my drive to work earlier this week:
a ribbon of rainbow
peeks through gray clouds
a harbinger of hope

Laura Purdie Salas is hosting the Poetry Friday Roundup today at Writing the World for Kids. Be sure to stop by to read more poetry and to help Laura celebrate the publication of her new book, Snowman – Cold = Puddle. And although this may be a little obvious, my haiku could easily be transformed into an equation poem:
showers + sunbeams = rainbow

hooray for your harbinger! what a great word

Ah, two rainbow poems today, wonderful! We don’t see many here, not enough moisture, but it is very special when they do appear. Thanks for sharing yours, Catherine.

Hope and rainbows go together! Love your poem — your word choice, the alliteration in first and last line.

I have a few people on my list who have lost loved ones. Whenever I see a rainbow, I try to take a picture and text it to them. A small thing that offers hope.

Love it, Catherine–and I have a rainbow equation in the book! I hope you’ll add yours to the Padlet–it’s lovely, as is your haiku.
